WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

Argentine Tango UK was formally launched on 11 December 2020 (the International Day of Tango) by a group of UK based Argentine Tango Teachers, Dancers and Organisers who came together to share experiences and with a passion to grow a stronger, more cohesive Argentine community in the UK.

OUR AIMS

a. To further Argentine Tango’s distinctive cultural identity as a recognised art form in the UK.

b. To come together as a community to endeavour to establish official recognition for our art  form within the registered dance communities and relevant government departments.

c. To be recognised as the official body for Argentine Tango in the UK.

d. To help our members to grow their business by whatever means that may be identified as  the Association grows.

We hold regular meetings at which dancers, teachers and organisers and other tango professionals talk about the issues that impact on their work. These meetings are an opportunity to share knowledge and exchange views and, where appropriate, offer guidance to others in the wider Argentine Tango community. As a new Association we will grow our activities to promote and support Argentine Tango over time in line with the needs of our members.

COVID 19 & ARGENTINE TANGO
A subgroup of members meet bi monthly to talk about the impact of Covid 19 on their activities. We exchange information and help each other to find a path through Government and Health regulations so that we can teach tango in a way that has the safety of all at heart.

For those who need guidance regarding the latest regulations, always check the gov.uk website, and we also suggest you take a look at Royal Academy of Dance for their take on the latest rules: link is here.
